After the Shadow Moses Island incident, the technical information about Metal Gear REX that Revolver Ocelot had taken was leaked all over the world, so Snake and Otacon formed an anti-Metal Gear foundation called “Philanthropy” and worked every day to eradicate them. One day, Otacon is contacted by a scientist who says she works at a facility that manufactures Metal Gears. She introduces herself as Reed, and offers to help her escape the facility in exchange for providing information about the facility and Metal Gears.
